Dutch telecom operator KPN has launched their new account management apps ‘Mijn Hi’ and ‘Mijn KPN’ in the Google Play market and the Apple App Store.
Egeniq was responsible for the technical design of the backend API that powers the apps. Telecom operators have many complex backend systems, so the challenge was to find a way to get the right data to the app and to allow the user to see usage stats, invoices and to actually change subscriptions.
The project was a cooperation between many different parties. UNITiD did the interaction design, Elements Interactive built the frontend and Incentro modified the Hi backends to deliver the data. For us the project was a nice exercise in applying our software engineering and architecture skills in a multi-disciplinary team.
