We’re Looking For A Jedi Apprentice

When Obi Wan Kenobi worked with young Luke Skywalker, he knew he was dealing with a gifted, talented person. Luke was inexperienced, naive, had an ego, but he also had this weird sense of purpose and an incredible talent. Obi Wan recognized, that with the proper training Luke would be destined to do great things. Ok, Obi Wan said the same things about Anakin and we all know how that turned out, but Obi Wan definitely had an eye for talent.

We’ve got a bunch of Obi Wans at Egeniq and we’re looking for the Luke Skywalkers and Princess Leias among you to strengthen our team. Sans the seventies haircuts, but with the talent. You realize that you still need to gain a ton of experience, but you have talent, passion and you’re eager to learn. We’ll make sure you get the experience you need with interesting projects and train you until you yourself become a master.

Update: It’s been brought to our attention that we are discriminating 70s haircuts. It’s ok if you have a 70s haircut. It’s just not a requirement. Thank you Skoop for pointing it out.

‘Ah, you’re in mobile. So you make iPhone apps’. We hear this all too often. But mobile is not just about phones. It’s about the internet breaking free of the desktop and being available anywhere, anytime. About the ability of more and more devices to get connected, about devices that get smarter and smarter, and the idea that you can get access to information from virtually anywhere. This opens up a new world of mobile and portable computing. At Egeniq we believe that, by mastering the technology behind this and truly grasping the potential, we can make a difference and innovate the way people use the internet.

What We Do

In a nutshell, we do the following things:

• We do project work for customers
• We do consultancy work for customers
• We build tools that are useful to other developers
• We build innovative mobile products of our own
• We share knowledge

At the heart of these activities is technology. We don’t do graphical design, we don’t do marketing; we focus on what makes things tick. Here’s a teaser video created during one of our latest projects, where we did amazing things with a Kinect sensor.

We operate out of Utrecht, but our customers and staff could be located anywhere in the Netherlands or outside of it. You can read more about how we work at our working at Egeniq page.

There’s a set of basic pre-requisites to be able to join us.

• You master at least one programming language.
• You have completed a computer science or other relevant study.
• You are a sponge. You absorb knowledge. Knowledge is an energy source to you.
• You have a passion for programming.
• You are talented, and able to demonstrate that.
